At the beginning of August, the Brinker-Sharbono-Poole-Kees clan (sans hard-working Jason :-() loaded up and headed to the mountains for a much needed family vacation! Mom and Dad booked a 3-story cabin on the outskirts of Pigeon Forge for all of us and the 11 1/2 grandkids! It was an absolute incredible time with the family filled with wonderful memories, fabulous food, and only one Urgent Care visit :). Here's a little peek at our fun-filled week...And you know there ain't no party like a Brinker-Sharbono-Poole-Kees party, cause a Brinker-Sharbono-Poole-Kees party don't stooooop!!
Since Jason had to work that week (boo), I caught a ride with Wade and Lissie girl. They were leaving straight from Music Camp at their church, so I got to catch a little glimpse of the kiddos' rehearsal for their production. Here's Jase getting some last minute snuggles from his Baby Cakes!

Ready for Gatlinburg!! (Apparently Erin is ready too, hah!)

The kids' crafts were the decorations for the production, and I spied three cute little astronauts!

As you can imagine, Brother takes this production veeeeery seriously, ha!

The girls were sooo good at the hand motions, they really were great at it!

I think this was for the countdown? Anyway, Callie is ready for her part!

The three cutest little singers!

They even had glow in the dark scene. So adorable!

I mean...what picture sums up Callie more?? Haha so sassy!

After Music Camp, we all crammed into the Ford Explorer, loaded down with tons of snacks, books, and movies, and we started the 12-hour trek. Later on, we stopped for dinner at our favorite, Chick-fil-A! Who knew you could get so many cute pictures at a quick pit stop??
Sweet cousins.

Somebody's a big fan of chicken nuggets!

Everybody freeze! This is myyyyy chicken!

Grant is also a huge fan of the complimentary Cheerios hah!

Look at the face! So easy to please.

All the cousins ready to hit the road again!

After a full day of driving, we spent the night and the next day, we made a stop in Chattanooga to visit the historic Tennessee Valley Railroad Station! We were all able to ride the train along one of the original railroad lines and pass through a pre-Civil War tunnel. Here we are waiting to get our tickets at Grand Junction Station!

The babies got to ride along for free...they were such awesome, cheap dates!

Waiting for the train to arrive!

Best little friends!

We didn't realize the time zone had changed, so we waited for the next available ride! hah! Luckily, we were able to look through all the trains on exhibit in the train yard. Here's Kurt, The Goob!

Conductor Poole!

Hhaha...oh Kurtyyy!

Well howdy, folks!

It began to rain a little bit, but we had to get the Poole family photo!

Playing in the rain, waiting for the train! And yes, Carson and Gavin have on their Thomas the train shirts!

She's here!!! Allll Aboooard!

Grand Junction Station, about to board!

Yayy! This was my very first time riding a train, and it was sooo fun! At the end of the railroad, they had to turn the locomotive around, so we all got out and took pictures! Here's the Brinker crew!

The Poole crew!

Haha! I love this picture sooo much! I'll try to catch you with your eyes open next time! haha

Before we got back on the train, the tour guide led us to the train restoration shop. All the little kids were so brave to go up to the front, and they had to yell "All Aboard!" (I think haha)

Back to Grand Junction Station! Kate loooves that there's no seatbelts haha

Sooo sweet!

Carson was so sweet to Kate, and she loved him right back! Cousins are just the best friends!

Goodbye Grand Junction Station! And thanks for carrying Baby Kate, Wadie! Yous my faves! :)
That evening, we finally reached the cabin in the mountains! Jenny had homemade rolls and spaghetti waiting on us, and it was the perfect start to a perfect week. More on that later...stay tuned! :)
