Here's my little 5 month old enjoying the sunshine in January! We packed a chicken salad picnic and headed to the Botanical Gardens. This little girl loooves the outside.

Jason can always maker her giggle like nobody else can! Her sweet little laugh is so infectious!

I looove love love to bake, and Texas can always use a little Louisiana flair :). My first homemade King Cake!

How has half a year already gone by?? Here is my 6 month old taking a picture for Grams' birthday message!

Apparentlhy, I take after my dad and Jen and never turn the heat on! Here she is all bundled up at the apartment!

At the end of last year, Jason's parents graciously offered to let us live at Nana's old house while Jason works on his Ph.D. So for Spring Break, we headed down to Anacoco to do some yard work at the house. We set up Kate's Pack-n-Play in the yard while we worked, and she was such a trooper. She loved chewing on that foam egg, and this was the first time she really began showing her little personality!

6 hours later:

Right before we left for Spring Break to go to LA, our kitchen in the apartment flooded from a burst water line! The good news was I got to stay an extra week in Pineville with my sisters while the floor got replaced. Here is Kate and Grant, having a good ole time at SAMs in the huge buggy!

From March to April, I attended a Kindermusik class hosted at SWBTS and taught by a dear friend from church. Kindermusik is a fabulous program that engages little ones with music, sensory learning, and interaction with other babies. I was skeptical at first...I mean what are we going to do for 45 minutes?? I can just play music at home, right?! I was sooooo wrong!! Kate absolutely LOVED it, and I was sold. Moms and babies would gather in a semi-circle and have structured times of bouncing them to the rhythm of music, singing songs or nursery rhymes together with the group, learning a few words in sign language to communicate with baby, have circle group dances, and even a time of exploring musical instruments such as jingle bells, drums, egg shakers, mesh scarves, you name it. I seriously felt like I was in a Baby Einstein movie!

One of Kate's favorite things to do in the apartment was sitting propped up with pillows, looking out the window while she chewed on the blind strings haha! She especially loved it when the little boys were outside playing baseball :)

Here's my little blue eyes outside, waiting on Daddy to get home from work!

Right before the 50th anniversary of Kennedy's assassination last year, Melissa and I became mildly obsessed with reading about his presidency, Jackie, and his murder! Come to find out, Oswald's grave is in Fort Worth, and I finally convinced Jason to take me to the cemetery! Here we are ready to go see some historical sights! And of course, as soon as we got there, Kate blew out of her diaper all down her tights, all over the carseat. Guess who didn't have any extra diapers????? Aghhhh!!! So we wrapped a blanket around her little booty...we were undeterred!

Here it is!! There's no signs, advertisement, or anything to indicate that his grave was even here. We had to search for it, trying to use piecemeal directions from the internet. But we finally found it!

My first homemade pretzels!

Love my little girl and love getting to do life with her!
